Two months out from Election Day, nearly a quarter of all registered voters are either undecided about the presidential race or iffy in their support for a candidate, an Associated Press-GfK poll shows. President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney take the gloves off for real tonight as they meet face to face in the Denver debate. It's the first of three this month and it's seen as a chance for millions of Americans to size up two fierce competitors in a moment of high-risk theater. Romney would like to reverse his recent fortunes while Obama wants to avoid campaign-altering mistakes.

Police say 38-year-old Lakesha Michelle Gilchrist tried to leave the Wal-Mart on Cobb Parkway with three shopping carts filled with household goods and clothing--but that since she was 39 weeks pregnant, officers just swore out a warrant and decided to arrest her after Gilchrist has her baby.

DeKalb County women can rest a bit easier. A suspected serial rapist has been denied bond and will remain behind bars until his trial. Gary Mincey is accused of attacking five women in October and November of last year. Police say he was picking out his victims at a Publix, following them home, and then attacking them as they unloaded groceries.

Tyler Perry reaches out to help a Decatur woman after thieves stole the van customized for her wheelchair. The media mogul heard a Channel 2 Action News report about Alicia Day's van being taken from her family's driveway, and called her up at home to offer to help. He met her parents at the Conyers dealership where they had bought their van 12 years ago, convinced the manager to reopen, since it was closed for the day, and paid for the $60,000 customized 2011 Volkswagen Amerivan the Days chose.

An attorney for the man accused of killing two DeKalb County police officers claims his client acted in self-defense. Both the defense and the prosecution presented opening statements Tuesday in the trial of William Woodard. District Attorney Robert James is seeking the death penalty for the 34-year-old defendant, who admits he shot Eric Barker and Ricky Bryant in 2008.

Critics of affirmative action are getting their hopes up for a reversal of affirmative action on campus. The Supreme Court revisits the use of race in college admissions next week.

Four men and two women are busted in Douglas County, accused of stealing literally one to three tons of copper wire from telephone poles in Georgia. The sheriff says the suspects would climb the poles, snip the wire with industrial cutters, and then sell the copper in North Carolina, since Georgia law makes it tougher for crooks to sell stolen wire here.

With Superintendent John Barge under pressure for his opposition to a proposed constitutional amendment on charter schools, the Georgia Department of Education has declared its neutrality on the Nov. 6 referendum. The agency says that it "takes no position" on the vote.

We may see the NFL replacement refs again soon--and close to home. Atlanta will be the home to the Lingerie Football League's newest team. The as-yet-unnamed team will play its games at Gwinnett Arena next spring. Open tryouts are soon to come. Some of the officials on the field during the NFL lockout had officiated in the Lingerie League, too.
