Black Friday is off to a good start with several stores opening their doors as early as 8pm Thursday night. Thousands of people stood in long lines in hopes of getting an early start on the shopping season and door buster deals. Retailers are hoping that the earlier openings will help boost sales this holiday season. It's estimated that Black Friday sales will be up almost 4-percent this year.
Thousands turned out on Thanksgiving day for the Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless event. This year's event, held at the Georgia World Congress Center, fed an estimated 10,000 people. In addition, other services were provided such as clothing, salon, barber and medical care.
