Who released the private wake photo of Whitney Houston in her casket? Funeral home owner Carolyn Whigham says no one in her camp did; she's clearing the air after getting death threats since a tabloid published the picture. She and two pastors say the Houston family knows who did, though, and it's up to them whether or not to reveal the person's name.
Here we go again. Declining revenue and tougher regulations are prompting the nation's big banks to try new fees. Among them, Wells Fargo, with a $15 a month checking fee unless a customer has a minimum $7,500 balance, three accounts, or a mortgage with them. Some Citibank customers are being charged $20 a month unless they maintain $15,000 in their accounts. Georgia is one of three states being hit with a Bank of America pilot program of fees for an "Essentials" checking account.
A Fulton County father sues the school district in a million-dollar lawsuit following the death of his special-needs son last year. Ronald Hatcher tells Channel 2 Action News that teachers and administrators at Roswell High School ignored his pleas that they not use an improvised neck restraint on his son. The 18-year-old Aaron Hatcher suffered from cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy and could not speak or walk.
AT&T will cap the unlimited data plans for smartphone subscribers. The new policy says if customers go over three gigabytes per month--the equivalent of about 10 hours of high-def video--the company will throttle their download speed. About 17 million customers will be affected and may have to pay more. AT&T also says subscribers with 2G phones may not be able to make calls without upgrading to 3G-enabled phone.
In KISS news about your health: As if the risk of getting caught cheating on your wife wasn't enough, there's new research that says men are more likely to die of a heart attack while in the middle of the act. The study in the journal Circulation found that married men having affairs have a higher risk of cardiac arrest during sex--often because they are with younger women in unfamiliar settings, adding to the stress level. Baylor researchers say while it's a small total of the overall heart attack numbers, up to 93% of those who died during intimacy were thought to be engaging in extra-marital sex.
Gwinnett County Police investigators believe a drug deal gone bad was the motive for Wednesday night's triple murder. Two men from Virginia and a man from Lawrenceville were shot to death at an apartment complex off of Highway 29 and Sugarloaf Parkway.
Classes resume today at Chardon High School in Ohio for the first time since a shooting in the cafeteria killed three students and wounded two others. Charges have been filed against 17-year-old T.J. Lane, who authorities say admitted firing 10 shots.
