The hassles at the driver's license bureau continue. Now, a Loganville man may lose his driving privileges over a traffic ticket that's not his. James Williams tried to renew his license in Norcross this month, but the computer pulled up a 1986 ticket in Illinois--a state he's never visited. The James Williams on the ticket shares his birthdate--but that man is also white, which Georgia's Williams is not. Not only that, the Illinois Williams is also deceased. Still, Mr. Williams wasn't able to get his license renewed that day and if he doesn't find a way to work it out this week, he may not have a valid license at all.

Governor Nathan Deal agrees to pay $3,350 in fines for mistakes and omissions on various campaign and personal finance forms. The state ethics commission dismissed the most serious ethics allegations against the governor, including use of state campaign money to pay his legal fees in a federal ethics investigation surrounding his time as a congressman, and charging his campaign to use an airplane he partly owned. Deal is the second governor, after Sonny Perdue, to pay the ethics commission for various infractions.

The ex-president of Alpha Phi Alpha is due in a DeKalb County courtroom today. Herman "Skip" Mason is suing the fraternity for the way he was ousted in April over his alleged use of fraternity money for tuition and dependent care. Mason wants the court to reinstate him as president for the last six months of his term. He denies wrongdoing and says he has made arrangements to reimburse A Phi A.

A Colorado prosecutor says it'll likely be a year before James Holmes goes on trial for the movie theater shootings. She'll decide whether to seek the death penalty after talking with victims' families.
