The Oldest Person In The World Dies; Lockheed Is Closing Up Shop; Burger Kings Celebrates The Whopper

Finch elementary remains closed today. This is the second day the school has been closed since carbon monoxide seeped into the elementary on Monday sickening several students and teachers. Fire officials suspect the boiler is the reason for the monoxide posoining. Atlanta Public School officials are considering installing carbon monoxide detectors in schools since the incident. Meanwhile, students and staff report will continue to report to Kennedy elementary until further notice.


Lockheed Martin has announced it's moving some of its operations to Texas. On Tuesday company officials said it's sending nearly 600-hundred of it's Marietta based employees to Fort Worth. The move is expected to begin early January. Lockheed officials say the move is expected to save the company millions of dollars. The employees who work on the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets are the ones slated to leave.


The oldest person in the world has died. Besse Cooper passed away Tuesday at a Monroe, Georgia nursing home. She was 116-years old. Cooper's son, Sidney, says his mother had been sick with a stomach virus, but was beginning to feel better. Cooper was officially listed as the world's oldest person in January of 2011 by the Guinness Book of World Records. The title now belongs to Dina Manfredini, of Johnston, Iowa who is 115-years old.


A state representative from Missouri wants to make it illegal for stores like Target and Walmart to start Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day. The lawmaker says the "Thanksgiving Family Protection Act" would make sure stores stay closed on Thanksgiving except for only a  few staying open, like pharmacies and gas stations.  The bill was proposed after an online petition was signed by over 300-thousand people telling the big retailers to keep Thanksgiving for families.  The bill is expected to be heard next month.


A central Georgia woman has to wear a sign proclaiming she is a fool. A Bibb County Superior court judge ordered Natasha Latrice Freeman to either wear a sign or spend almost a month in jail. Freeman chose to wear the sign. The 38-year old plead guilty to battery and making terrorist threats after she hopped on a school bus in April and physically abused her 11-year old cousin. Freeman has since apologized. Freeman has been sentenced to wear the sign at the bus stop where the incident occurred beginning December 10th.

In honor of it's 55th anniversary, Burger King is selling the Whopper sandwich for just 55 cents.  The 55-cent Whopper is available with the purchase of a Whopper at regular price.  Burger King is also offering some different Whoppers for a limited time.  The celebratory price begins Thursday December 6, 2012 and lasts until Sunday December 9, 2012.
