George Zimmerman is expected in a Florida court today, one day after a special prosecutor charged the neighborhood watch volunteer with second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman's new attorney tells NBC's "Today" show that his client "is stressed and very tired and hoping to get bail." Prosecutors will have to prove Zimmerman intentionally went after the unarmed 17-year-old instead of shooting him in self-defense. The 28-year-old has undergone a battery of physical and mental tests; he's expected to seek bond today.
Asked on "Today" what she would say to Zimmerman face-to-face, Sybrina Fulton said she wanted an apology, then added: "I believe it was an accident. I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn't turn the clock back."
In KISS news about your health: to lose weight, get some sleep. Harvard researchers found getting less than 5.5 hours of sleep per night can cause you to pack on the pounds. Chronic sleeplessness means the body never really wakes up, and feeling sleepy and less alert means the metabolism decreases by about 12%. That means the body burns about 120 fewer calories per day--equaling a 12.5-pound weight gain over a year.
