The Henry County police sergeant arrested last month for burglarizing a home in his subdivision has been fired. David Ferguson was one of seven people accused of taking items from the home of a woman neighbors thought had been evicted. But Ferguson tells Channel 2 Action News he was only there to look for a gun that he'd heard was in the house, so kids wouldn't get their hands on it--and he insists he took nothing. Tearfully, he said this situation eats away at him and he worries for his family. Police brass say Ferguson was not fired based on the criminal charges, but for violating policies on conduct and truthfulness.
The First Lady is going to the garden--the Olive Garden--today. Inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama's anti-child obesity campaign, the company that owns Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Red Lobster and three other popular chains is vowing to serve healthier meals. Darden Restaurants pledges to cut calories and sodium in its meals by 10% by 2016, and by 20% in 10 years. and overhaul kids' menu choices. Children's meals will automatically include a fruit or veggie side and low-fat milk unless a substitution--like fries--is requested by an adult.
