Fulton County Police hope a composite sketch helps find the rapists who assaulted not one, but two women, just hours apart after snatching them and dragging them to a vacant house on Old National Highway last Friday. One of the three rapists is described as in his late teens, about 5'8", with a round face, lazy eye and body odor.
The women were picked up about 10 miles apart, on the same road, before being taken to the empty home.
"This is horrendous. This is something we don't see every day," Fulton County Police Sgt. Scott McBride told Channel 2 Action News. "Rapes always a violent crime. This is completely off the scale."
Anyone with any information regarding the man in the sketch is asked to call the Fulton County Police at (404) 730-7911.
Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith is expected back in Flowery Branch this afternoon after a bout with chest pains in Charlotte. As the team was prepping for takeoff at the airport following their 31-23 win over the Panthers, the 52-year-old complained of pain and he was taken to a local hospital. The team says tests confirm Smith's health, and he's due to be released from the hospital this morning.
In making the case for his re-election, President Barack Obama is arguing that it doesn't matter who the Republicans nominate to run against him because the core philosophy of the GOP candidates is the same and will stand in sharp relief with his own. The president laid out an argument for a second term on CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday, bluntly saying that if voters believe in the Republican agenda of lower taxes, including for the wealthy, and weaker regulations, then he will lose. "I don't think that's where the American people are going to go," he added, "because I don't think the American people believe that based on what they've seen before, that's going to work."
He rejected questioner Steve Kroft's suggestion that the public was judging him on his performance as president. "I'm being judged against the ideal," he said. "Joe Biden has a good expression. He says, 'Don't judge me against the Almighty, judge me against the alternative."'
Two New York lawmakers call for passenger advocates at all US airports to handle complaints about TSA security. This, as the TSA denies claims that three elderly women were strip-searched. In one case, a woman allegedly was required to remove her back brace; in another, a passenger with a colostomy bag says she was told she'd have to let the agent see it.
Lowe's Home Improvement is facing a backlash for pulling its advertising from a reality show about everyday Muslim Americans who live in suburban Detroit, Michigan. A conservative group called the Florida Family Association complained to Lowe's, calling TLC's "All-American Muslim" "propaganda" that it says "hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger." California State Senator Ted Lieu calls the Lowe's decision "naked religious bigotry."
The Supreme Court gets its first chance today to jump into the fracas over state laws targeting illegal immigrants. Arizona is asking the justices for permission to begin enforcing measures that have been blocked by lower courts at the Obama administration's request.
