Watchers are wondering whether TI's good deed in talking a suicidal man off a skyscraper in midtown this week will sway the judge's decision as the rapper heads to federal court for a probation revocation hearing this afternoon. The 30-year-old will find out whether a judge here will throw him behind bars for violating probation on his weapons conviction with that September arrest on drug charges in Los Angeles. Deputies in west Hollywood said he tested positive for opiates. As for the midtown jumper situation, TI says, "God did all the work; I just showed up." Last week, his probation officer recommended a sentence of 8-14 months if Judge Pannell sends Clifford Harris, Jr. back to prison. His lawyers said 5-11 months is fairer.
A father is charged with child cruelty and reckless conduct after his son is hit by a car. Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones says the five-year-old boy panicked when his dad, 28-year-old Joseph Robinson, left him alone at the playground to go visit some nearby friends. The boy ran after his father and tried to cross Boulevard, and was hit by a car. The driver rushed the boy to the hospital, where he's listed in critical condition.
Prince is taking his show on the road. His Purple Highness says his "Welcome 2 America" tour launches in New York in December.
"Bring friends, bring your children, and bring foot spray--'cause it's gonna be funky," said Prince. He says he will perform with New Power Generation as well as be the master of ceremonies.

A veteran teacher of 21 years is jailed without bond in Carroll County. Forty-seven-year-old Richard DeLong is accused of sexting graphic photos to a 17-year-old boy, trying to arrange a sexual encounter with the teen. DeLong is a well-known tenor in Sacred Harp choral singing, and performed at the Academy Awards after appearing on the "Cold Mountain" soundtrack.
