A businessman and his family are terrorized in their Roswell home by crooks who followed him home from his job in Sandy Springs, and ambushed him in his garage. The two suspects, described as a black male and a white male, were wearing "expensive ski masks" when they tied up the other three family members too, and got away with some money.
A new chapter in the court case that is King vs. King...as the surviving children of Dr. Martin Jr. and Coretta Scott wrangle over their mom's personal effects. A court-ordereed 5:00 Thursday deadline came and went without the transfer of some eighty boxes of personal papers from Bernice and Martin III to brother Dexter, who's cut a deal to do a biography of Coretta Scott King over the objections of his siblings. Attorneys say Bernice and Martin will try to identify the exact documents Dexter has requested.
Marvel Comics found out Barack Obama has been a Spider-Man fan since he was a kid--so the comic line is hooking up the president-elect with a storyline featuring himself. An issue on sale next Wednesday has a five-page bonus story which finds Peter Parker taking pictures at the inauguration when he spots two identical Obamas--and he uses basketball to figure out who's the real one. When all is said and done, Spidey and Barack give each other a pound. (Click on the panels to see them up close!)

Add this to the smart crook of the week file: an would-be robber in Iowa tried to stick up a cell phone store--but when he tried to pepper-spray the clerk, he ended up spraying himself in the face. He finally figured out the business end of the device and sprayed the clerk anyway, then made a run for it.
