Police have found a link between a DeKalb County police sergeant's fiancee and one of her alleged killers. Roswell Police say Jameelah Qureshi had filed a complaint against Luis Porras in 2007, accusing him of sex with a teen relative of hers. Porras, who is now 24, said he and the 15-year-old girl were dating, and took a plea. Porras and 25-year-old Amanda Dove are jailed without bond on felony murder charges in Qureshi's death. The mother of four was gunned down in her driveway earlier this month.
Michael Jackson overdosed--and not by his own hand. The Los Angeles County coroner rules Jackson's death a homicide, caused by a mix of powerful drugs--the sedative Propofol and at least two others--given to him the day he died by his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray reportedly wanted to wean Jackson off Diprivan--what Jackson called his "milk"--which the singer used to help him sleep, fearing Jackson was addicted. But Jackson was insistent that he get the Diprivan after other drugs Murray injected into his IV weren't putting him to sleep, so Murray agreed. The doctor says after monitoring the singer for 10 minutes following the dosage, he took a bathroom break and was gone for no longer than two minutes; when he returned, he says, Jackson had stopped breathing. A legal analyst says malpractice suits or civil actions are more common than criminal charges in cases like these--but that a criminal trial targeting the doctor is unlikely.
