What a Wonderful Life It Is!

By Charles Mitchell

I've been told throughout my years, especially while growing up, to "treat people the way you want to be treated." I've lived by that motto. My folks born in the state of Alabama, relocated up north to find a better life. They started a family and my sister, my two brothers, and I were born. I love my family. My mother and father are no longer with us physically, but always in spirit. I cherish the days that I think of them and wished that I can have one more day to talk to them...to see them...to touch them. I may be feeling a little emotional now, but I just thought that sometimes we tend to forget to live each moment fully. Seize the moment, because this moment will never come again. We all go through challenges in our lives. I was up early one Sunday morning listening to my co-worker Twanda Black's show, "Business in The Black." One of her guests said some of us sometimes hold on to grudges for so long that we tend not to let the negative go. It starts to consume our being. I'm so distressed when I hear stories of someone killing or harming another for silly reasons. If you're in an abusive relationship, get help to get out! If someone said something about you that you didn't like, they're entitled to their opinion...MOVE ON! I say all of this to say, LIVE YOUR LIFE AND LIVE IT WELL...Don't let anyone or anything steal your joy! I hope you'll join me weeknights on "Slow Jamz"...If my show allows you to simply unwind and cool out after a day of trials & tribulations...good day or bad day...(by the way...there 's really never a bad day, it's how YOU look at it...) then this is a good thing. Until next time my friends...God Bless!
