Last week, Fantasia Barrino let it be known that she stayed home from the Grammy Awards ceremony rather than sit and watch an Aretha Franklin tribute in which she wasn't invited to participate. Well, word got back to Franklin, who sent the following response to USA TODAY's Lifeline Live:
"I was sorry to hear that Fantasia was upset because she did not get the opportunity to participate in my Grammy Tribute this year. I recall that in the past, Fantasia participated in both my MusicCares Person of the Year Tribute and my United Negro College Fund Tribute. Fantasia is still young in the business and although we all love and appreciate her she must understand that in this business of show business she will not always get to participate in everything she would like participate in. I'm sure it was not an intentional omission. I will see Fantasia over the summer here in Detroit."

Could Chris Brown and Rihanna be getting be getting back together? The restraining order has been modified and Rihanna doesn't have a problem with it..
Beyonce in blackface.Chris Brown had his restraining order modified on Tuesday by Judge Patricia Schnegg in connection with the brutal beating of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Brown was present in court with his lawyer Mark Geragos, but Rihanna was only represented by her attorney, Donald Etra, who told the judge that Rihanna does not object to the restraining order being modified.
"I have spoken with my client, and she does not object to it being modified to a level one order," Etra said.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 23-year-old Barbados beauty requested that the order be dropped to a level one, so the two can have contact as long as Brown doesn't harass or molest her.
"I'm approving the order...you can't annoy, molest, or conduct surveillance of the person on the order," Judge Schnegg said.
Brown has always received glowing reviews during his probation progress report hearings and Tuesday was no different, when Schnegg praised Brown for completing the 52 week domestic violence counseling.

Oh, Beyoncé ... a distinct divide will forever exist between your fans and your ardent haters and your ardent fans.
The bridge between the two widened just a bit when Beyoncé appeared in blackface for L'Officiel Paris magazine's 90th anniversary issue. The spread was in homage to the late great Fela Kuti, but some were put off by Beyoncé's decision to go all-black everything.
The theme of the spread was "African Queen," and the singer totally immersed herself in the concept. Still, she and the magazine's staff had to know that the decision to do blackface would cause a stir.
What's interesting in this story is the fine line between art and insensitivity. For Beyoncé, the goal was to show the utmost respect to a legend. But by doing so, she -- in the eyes of many -- showed the ultimate disrespect to other blacks in the process.
