Dionne Warwick doesn’t play when it comes to getting what belongs to her in the music industry. It appears a new Broadway musical about the 1960s girl group The Shirelles has been hit with a lawsuit charging them of pilfering the names and likenesses of the original members of The Shirelles and singing legend Dionne Warwick, who is also portrayed in the show. Lawyers representing Dionne Warwick and the founding member of the Shirelles filed in New York Supreme Court a day before Wednesday’s opening night. Read more
The Queen of Soul after losing 85 lbs.
We had our own Royal moment Thursday when our Queen of Soul performed live on The View, Aretha Franklin's first live performance since her illness in late 2010. The Queen said “I feel wonderful, I’ve got more energy, I’ve changed my diet, getting the best stuff, I dropped the chitlins, drop the ham hocks”. Aretha Franklin looks fabulous and broke out an old classic for her fans. Look out for a new CD from the Queen of Soul “A Woman Falling out of Love,” dropping in May. We love you Aretha.
