Teddy Pendergrass passes away at the age of 59.

Teddy Pendergrass II, son of the soultry singer, Teddy Pendergrass confirms that his father died Wednesday at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Pendergrass' son stated that his father had a "a difficult recovery' after under going colon cancer surgery in the Spring of 2009.

Pendergrass had been paralyzed after a car accident in the early 80s.

Pendergrass' hits included, "Love TKO," "Turn Off The Lights," "Two Hearts," "Close The Door" and "You're My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration" just to name a few.

Penergrass was 59.
