Wesley Snipes wants to be home for the holidays but the judge says NO; Janet Jackson Barbie doll valued at 15k for charity..

By Art Terrell

Wesley filed the request last week -- asking a federal judge in Florida if he could begin his three-year prison sentence for tax evasion on January 6, 2011 instead of December 9, 2010.

Wesley's argument ... he has "four minor children" and didn't want to get locked up "in the middle of the holiday season."

But a judge didn't see it that way -- because according to documents filed today in Florida, the judge denied the request citing the fact that Wesley was originally sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago ... and therefore the actor had "all of that time to place his affairs in order."

The judge also wrote, "The sooner he begins his sentence, the sooner it will end."

Janet Jackson Barbie doll valued at 15k.

The legendary singer and performer has teamed with toy manufacturer Mattel to release her very own, special edition Barbie doll, "Divinely Janet."

The collector's item will be auctioned off and all proceeds will benefit Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that provides meals for the needy and those disabled by HIV/AIDS in the Los Angeles area.

The look-a-like doll valued at $15,000 is the most up-to-date artistic impression of Janet, with a short hairdo, red and black gown copied from her performance on American Idol earlier this year. But this ain't no typical Barbie gown. Like the original, designed by Jackeline Gonzalez, it features hand-placed Swarovski crystals on the fabric, and a sleek cat suit underneath (like the one Janet wore in her second performance).

Bidding, at Charity Buzz, began at the beginning of the month and is set to close on Dec. 15.
