The National Weather Service In Peachtree City Has Issued A



*Flash Flood Warning For

Cherokee County In North Central Georgia

Bartow County In Northwest Georgia



*Until 330 Pm Edt Sunday



*At 921 Am Edt National Weather Service Doppler Radar Indicated

Potential Flash Flooding From Thunderstorms With Heavy Rain Passing

Over The Warned Area. Rainfall Amounts Around 2 Inches Has Occurred

In The Adairsville Area Since 815 Am Edt. Additional Heavy Rain Is

Expected To Spread Over The Remainder Of Bartow County And Into

Cherokee County Within The Next Few Hours.



*Locations In The Warning Include But Are Not Limited To Ball

Ground Waleska White And Adairsville.



Precautionary/Preparedness Actions



Do Not Drive Your Vehicle Into Areas Where The Water Covers The

Roadway The Water Depth May Be Too Great To Allow Your Car To Cross

Safely. Move To Higher Ground.

The National Weather Service In Peachtree City Has Issued A



*Flood Watch For Portions Of Central Georgia East Central

Georgia North Central Georgia Northeast Georgia

Northwest Georgia And West Central Georgia.



*Through This Evening



*National Weather Service Radar Indicates That Two To Four Inches

Of Rain With Locally Higher Amounts Has Fallen Across

Portions Of North And Central Georgia This Morning. Additional

Amounts Of One To Two Inches With Locally Higher Amounts Are

Possible. The Heavy Rainfall Axis Will Shift To The Southwest

Across The Metro Atlanta Area During The Mid To Late Morning.



*Flooding Of The Larger Creeks And Rivers Is Possible With

Additional Rainfall.



*Localized Flash Flooding Will Be Possible If The Heavy Rain

Repeatedly Moves Over The Same Area. Also Storm Drains

Ditches And Low Lying Areas May Become Quickly Clogged With

Debris And Cause Extensive Street Flooding.

A Flood Watch Means There Is A Potential For Flooding Based On

Current Forecasts.
