2013 Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 16, 2013
Noon-1:30 p.m.

The 131st Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Step off begins at Peachtree and Ralph McGill and will proceed down Peachtree toward Woodruff Park and ending at 5 Points on Marietta St.

The family-friendly parade includes: 

    • A pre-parade performance featuring Irish dance groups and musicians
    • hailing from the Southeast and as far away as Ireland
    • Notable Atlantans, including local civic leaders and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball team
    • The return of several Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade community bands, floats and balloons to entertain all ages
    • One of the world’s largest Irish walking flags, to be marched down Peachtree Street by more than 50 volunteers

       

      The parade pre-show will begin at 11:30 at the intersection of John Portman Boulevard and Peachtree Street. The parade will kick-off at noon from the intersection of Ralph McGill Boulevard and Peachtree Street. It will continue south on Peachtree Street toward Woodruff Park, and will conclude at Peachtree and Marietta Streets. In addition, radio disc jockeys from 97.1 The River, B 98.5 and KISS 104.1 FM will be stationed along the route to announce the parade.

      The Parade is staged by Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade Inc. an outgrowth of the 155 year old Hibernian Benevolent Society of Atlanta’s St. Patrick’s Parade. The “Parade Committee” consists of members of Atlanta’s Irish Community and is a 501(c)(3) Corporation and registered with the Georgia Secretary of State as a Not-For-Profit Corporation.

      All parade proceeds will benefit the local Captain Planet Foundation’s Learning Gardens – a curriculum-based environmental stewardship program for children in select Cobb, Gwinnett and Atlanta Public Schools. Returning parade sponsors include The Coca-Cola Company, Oldcastle, and Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant.
