Atlanta’s favorite chefs and restaurants will be serving up their takes on holiday classics at the first annual “A Taste of the Season: Savor the Flavor --- An Evening Dedicated to Fighting Childhood Obesity” event at the Georgia Freight Depot on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 6:30 pm. In Atlanta’s only holiday-inspired tasting event, the ladies of the Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will engage 40 chefs from every food genre to create unique signature dishes and samplings with a Christmahaunakwanzika holiday twist. In line with Delta Sigma Theta’s national initiative to end childhood obesity, proceeds from the event will benefit the chapter’s new Delta Kid’s Kitchen program. The Kid’s Kitchen is an opportunity for kids to develop a healthy relationship with food and learn to create healthy snacks and quick meals. In addition to the tasting, there will be a simultaneous VIP four-course dinner, paired with wine served by some of Atlanta’s best chefs.
