On behalf of the City of Riceboro, we are pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Ricefest to be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 9:00am until 5:00pm, we have lined up the ultimate soul crooner, Lenny Williams to headline our Ricefest stage. In addition to Lenny Williams we are pleased to present Comedian Tony Tone The Universal Soul Circus Ring Master to the Ricefest stage and the Homecoming Friday night event. Ricefest will begin with a community parade through the city at 9:00am. This year we will once again have the “Homecoming Dance” on Friday night, as we have seen a large number of Liberty County natives returning home each year to attend the festival. In addition to those returning home for the weekend, the festival allows local residents of Liberty County, military members and their families an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the Geechee culture that is deeply rooted in this coastal city. The events leading up to Ricefest include the Third Annual Liberty County Ricefest Pageant on Saturday, October 20 at 1:00pm and will continue through the evening with the ever so popular Talent/Step Show Competition at the Midway Middle School. We will host a “Homecoming 2012 with Michael Hulett” at the Riceboro Youth Center on Friday, November 9 at 7pm until 10pm, honoring all veterans that have bravely served our country. These exciting events are sure to offer entertainment for all ages to enjoy!
